Hockey culture has been demonstrated to be a site of racism, homophobia, misogyny and other forms domination which keep men’s ice hockey stuck with hypermasculine narratives as young boys chase place within this culture. This study, conducted an Elite U18 male team in Western Canada, used photovoice means enquire into athlete experiences schools the tension between being celebrated boy hypermasculinity their everyday lives. Photovoice was open up conversations images participants took during days at specialized sport academy regarding feelings disengagement school. The findings show weight on including toughness, classism well implications mental health risk violent acts from isolated exclusive white patriarchal community.
